In this article, we will provide a guide on how to establish a connection for an email account within Microsoft Outlook 2016.

Connecting an email account in Microsoft Outlook 2016

Open Microsoft Outlook and select File.
Choose "File" -
Then click on the Add account button

Login with our email
In the window that opens, type the name of our email account in the relevant field and then Login.

Protocol selection
In the next setting, we choose the POP or IMAP communication protocol. For this guide, we will choose IMAP.

IMAP account settings
In IMAP account settings we declare the settings for incoming and outgoing mail. In incoming mail, in the Server field we can declare mail.domainmou.gr with Port 143 and STARTTLS encryption. In the outgoing mail, in the Server field we can also declare mail.domainmou.gr with Port 25 and encryption STARTTLS. Then press the Next button.
Fill in incoming and outgoing mail fields. -
Enter Password & Connect
Finally, we proceed to enter the password of our email account in the respective field and click the Connect button.

Completion
We are informed that our account has been successfully added, and we click the Finish button.

In general terms, you can see your connection details, through your pointer.gr account and in the path Web Hosting > domainmou.gr (the name of your hosting package) > Hosting details.

Protocol: POP3 or IMAP
Server: mail.domainmou.gr (alternatively the name of the server e.g. linuxXX.name-servers.gr or its IP)
Port: 110 (for POP3) or 143 (for IMAP)
Security: (START)TLS
Authentication (required): Login requires authentication with your email account credentials. As username you use the full address of the account (e.g. info@domainmou.gr) and as password the code of the mail account.
Outgoing mail
Protocol: SMTP
Server: mail.domainmou.gr (alternatively the name of the server e.g. linuxXX.name-servers.gr or its IP)
Port: 587 (alternatively 25)*
Security: (START)TLS
Authentication (required): Login requires authentication with your email account credentials. As username you use the full address of the account (e.g. info@domainmou.gr) and as password the code of the mail account.
Note
In case the outgoing port is blocked by your provider, you can use the secure alternative TLS.
